The Spice Route
Hampi Express (2 Nights and 3 Days)

Situated in the outskirts of the southern state of Karnataka is a small town called Hospet. Nearly 6 kms away from Hospet, remnants of the legendary city Hampi lie scattered over an area of more than 15 sq. kms. Hampi was the capital city of the prosperous Vijayanagar Samrajya, which was established in the year 1336 A.D. Hampi was known for its beautiful buildings, finely decorated Prasadas, pompous faith temples and mandapas adorned with deities.

Besides this, situated on the banks of the Tungbhadra River is the temple of Sri Vittal Swami in whose backyard stands the famous musical pillars. To experience the loveliness of this monumental city in its totality, one has to travel along the cloud covered waters of the Tungbhadra; scale the splendid rocky hills of the Deccan plateau, explore the supremely erected ancient temples, dwellings, markets and other structures, feel the serenity of this nature’s paradise and then admire human artistry.
