Delhi, Jaipur and Agra: three of the most fascinating cities in the whole of the Indian sub-continent set at the very heart of the Mughal Empire of the 16th and 17th century. This tour will give you a fascinating insight into a rich culture, and civilization that will leave you with a feeling that you have only just begun to scratch the surface of something both beautiful, and mystical.
What to Expect
Arrive in Delhi and travel to Agra and go on a half day tour of that famous labour of love, the Taj Mahal, and the Red Fort. The Taj has been awing visitors from around the world for centuries, and the Red Fort extends over 2 kilometers and had been modeled on the Agra Fort by the Emperor Shah Jahan. In the afternoon, depart to Fatehpur Sikri: ‘the deserted city'. Fatehpur Sikri is a perfectly preserved example of a Mughal city. The main entrance to the city is through the 175 foot Buland Darwaza, the highest gate in the word.
Spend the night in Agra at a 3 or 4 star hotel.
Day 2: Drive to Jaipur. Spend the night in Jaipur at a 3 or 4 star hotel
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel and then leave for a tour of the city, also called the pink city of Rajasthan. Jaipur is surrounded by rugged hills, crowned with forts and enclosed by embattled walls. Leave early in the morning to the Amber fort, where you can ride on an elephant. Also visit the Jai Mandir (hall of victory), the Jagmandir, the Kali Temple and the City Palace, which now houses a museum containing rare manuscripts, paintings and an armory.
Spend the night in Jaipur at a 3 or 4 star hotel.
Drive from Jaipur to Udaipur. Visit the City Palace in Udaipur. Overnight stay.
Day 5: Udaipur to Delhi
Spend the day touring of the city of Udaipur. Uadipur stands in the valley amidst green hills on the banks of the wide, steel blue lake Pichola. Visit Sahelion Ki Bari, drive around Fateh Sagar Lake, Jagdish temple and Gulab Niwas. In the evening, fly to Delhi
